krita - A photo editing and painting program

krita a highly powerful free photoshop alternative (A photo editing and painting program)

You shifted from windows to linux , So you probably searched for alternatives to adobe photoshop that are preferably free and powerful. I'm here to introduce you to one of the best free alternative image editor tools to adobe photoshop (If not the best) and it's Krita by KDE community. for a free alternative to photoshop, You will be stunned by how familiar ,powerful and functional the interface of that software is.

Although I knew Krita when I shifted to linux as I was searching for free photoshop alternatives that look like photoshop , but then I knew that krita is also available for windows but for a fee.Although I found some other free alternatives that were somewhat similar in function to photoshop like GIMP but GIMP wasn't that much similar in shape to photoshop. so I had to search for another alternative other than GIMP. Then I found krita. As the main site states "The Krita project was started by the KDE community in 1998. Krita is still part of the KDE community: all Krita contributors are KDE community members!" so it's free of charge for linux users , Open source, and stunningly with such functionality it comes with small size of the installation package. One thing I knew from wikipedia is that krita is written in C++. The latest stable release when this article is written is 4.4.2 that's released 19 jan 2021. It's popular amongst artists and many of them use it for drawing their paintings or image editing.

Painting tools

Krita has a lot of painting tools like : brushes , selection tools and transformation tools. It also has a lot of animation tools and vector tools like :
  • Path tool
